Team

Austin Gao
Microalgae Industrial Expert
Austin is a senior agronomist. He worked as the Vice President of the Microalgae Sub-Association of the China Algae Industry Association, Chief Scientist of Algae at Tongwei Co., Ltd., and external graduate advisor at Zhejiang University, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Hohai University, and Hainan University. He is also the Chairman of Cibainian Company. Since 1994, Gao Zhigang has led a team dedicated for 31 years to the research and promotion of microalgae products, including spirulina, chlorella, Haematococcus pluvialis, Euglena, and Nannochloropsis.

Prof. Tony Bi
Scientist and R&D Supervisor
Dr. Xiaotao (Tony) Bi is a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of British Columbia, and is a Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering. He has been an associate director of the Clean Energy Research Centre, director of China-Canada Bioenergy Centre, and manager of the Fluidization Research Centre. He has published 350+ peer-reviewed papers, being cited 12200 times with an H-Index of 54.

Dr. Colin Li
Project Management
Dr. Colin Li is a scientist and entrepreneur in Canada. He got his Ph.D. degree in chemistry at the age of 26 from the University of Victoria and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto and later a sessional faculty at The King’s University. He co-founded FundQuest Consulting in 2023, aiming at assisting Canadian technology companies obtaining governmental subsidies for R&D activities. He has extensive experience in project management in the technology sector.
